I had a mixed experience at The Aster during my stay. While the room was spacious and beautifully decorated, and the dining experience at the restaurant was excellent, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed disengaged, and I had an unpleasant experience with the valet service that added unnecessary stress to my trip.
Rooms
8.0
My room was huge and well-appointed, making it feel more like a spacious studio apartment. The decoration really enhanced the overall vibe, definitely nodding to old Hollywood glamour.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, the service was lacking. I often felt like I was interrupting the staff, particularly the receptionist who appeared preoccupied with his phone. This was disappointing, especially during breakfast when most of the staff seemed bored and unwelcoming.
Location
7.0
The hotel is situated in a decent spot for first-time visitors to LA, as it’s close to various attractions and restaurants. I appreciated being able to easily access many of Hollywood’s highlights.
Dining
8.0
The dinner I had at the restaurant was genuinely good, and the menu featured some tasty dishes that I'd recommend. However, the breakfast options felt repetitive after a few days.
Facilities
5.0
Despite the beautiful facilities, my experience was marred by a valet mishap when they lost my car keys. Waited for three hours in the lobby, which was not ideal at all.

6.0/10
The Aster blending modern luxury with a nice location in Hollywood was appealing… but my experience fell short of expectations due to service hiccups. I enjoyed the spacious room and unique decor, but several overlooked details detracted from my stay.
Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, featuring modern amenities that added to the mood. I especially appreciated the quality of the linens and the emotional touch of having a record player. However, some minor issues like noise from the street impacted my experience.
Service
6.0
While the staff was generally friendly and eager to help, the execution of service left much to be desired. I faced delays with requests, like a missing rollaway bed and extra blankets, which affected my overall stay. The breakfast service was also disorganized, leaving me frustrated after a long wait.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was fantastic, within walking distance of several Hollywood hotspots and attractions. I enjoyed the vibrant energy of the area, which made it easy to explore. However, the surrounding noise from the nightlife could be a consideration for light sleepers.
Dining
7.0
Dining at the in-house restaurant provided a lively atmosphere. I had high hopes, but the breakfast experience was marred by errors in billing and service. Despite some delicious dishes, I left feeling disappointed with the breakfast management.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities offered a nice array of amenities like a bar and lounge area, but some features could be clearer like the in-room offerings. A list of complimentary items would enhance guest experience. I appreciated the room service option, though my interaction at the breakfast bar lacked warmth.
